Committee “Pierre de Coubertin”

The National Committee “Pierre de Coubertin” was established in 1996 and forms an integral part of the Olympic Committee of Serbia, mirroring the role of the International “Pierre de Coubertin” Committee within the International Olympic Committee.
The main goals of the National Committee “Pierre de Coubertin” of the Olympic Committee of Serbia are:

• to familiarise the public of Serbia with the work, life and ideas of the founder of the Olympic Movement, Baron Pierre de Coubertin;
• to promote and disseminate the Olympic ideals;
• to promote sports culture in cooperation with state authorities and social institutions, with an emphasis on moral, health, civil, educational and other values of sport;
• to contribute to the physical and sports activities based upon the Olympic norms, to fight for the purity of sports and to nurture the Olympic spirit – as defined by Baron Pierre de Coubertin over a century ago.
