WORLD STUDENT GAMES
(UNIVERSIADES)
The World Student Games, i.e. the Universiades, are multi-sport
competitions for student-athletes, organised by the International
University Sports Federation (FISU) and patronised by the International
Olympic Committee (IOC).
The World Student Games are staged for summer (Summer
Universiades) and winter sports (Winter
Universiades) every two years.
The entrants are full-time students aged 17 to 28.
The University Sports Union of Serbia and Montenegro (USSSCG) is a FISU
member and it continues the tradition of the Sports Board of Students of
Yugoslavia (established on 8 May 1953), the Federation of Student Sports
Organisations of Yugoslavia (since 31 March 1958) and the University
Federation for Physical Culture of Yugoslavia (since 19 May 1974). |
